Marginal marks and MS notes throughout,including p.xiii: "[The author's husband] deeply disapproved of her pleasure-seeking ways at such a time [...] Her hospitality had in it a strong dah of sheer gluttony; and she was a reckless, and most ill-natured gossip." Also, very critical of the editing: "The editing is bad. Chapter X ought to end about page 143."
